According to the below figure, the gelcoat used in the right part contains GLASS FLAKE particles. The leaflet shape of these particles and the way they are placed in the coating film, prevents the penetration of water and chemicals into the polymer (in each millimeter thickness, 175 layers of glass flake are placed and act as a barrier against water and gas), while conventional spherical fillers distances, act as a passage for water and chemicals (left part).
Available codes are as follow:
- GC 1000 GF: Glass Flake Vinyl Ester Gelcoat: these gel coats are widely used in the chemical industry where high temperature and chemical resistance is necessary.
- GC 2000 GF: Glass Flake ISO Gelcoat: These Gelcoats are ideal for where bright color, chemical, mechanical and, weathering resistance properties are required.
- GC 5000 GF: Glass Flake special ISO Gelcoat: These Gelcoats are ideal for where bright color, chemical, mechanical and, weathering resistance properties are required at high temperatures.
